Second Visiting Author Announced

BRANDON R. SCHRAND

We are also pleased to announce that Brandon R. Schrand will join the RMWF lineup and will open this year's festival on Monday, April 7. Schrand is the author of The Enders Hotel: A Memoir (University of Nebraska Press, 2008), which won the 2007 River Teeth Prize for best book of literary nonfiction, and was selected as a Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers selection for summer 2008.

The reading is sponsored by a grant from the Pocatello Arts Council.

Visiting Author Announced

PAISLEY REKDAL

We are pleased to announce that Paisley Rekdal, author of a book of essays and three collections of poetry, will give a reading at this year's festival. In addition to her reading, Rekdal will also present a lecture on the lyric imagination in photography and poetry, in particular by looking at portraits of Native Americans around the turn of the century. Rekdal will explore what photos and lyric poems propose to do when they create portraits of people.

This lecture and reading is sponsored by a grant from the Idaho Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
